Social Services Field Offices, Facilities Standards Study, BC - 1989
Client: BC Ministry of Social Services and Housing
Building type: Offices, Social Services
The Ministry of Social Services and Housing has a network of field offices across British Columbia. The purpose of these offices is to deliver and manage social services programs. We prepared a manual of accommodation guidelines for field offices that would provide more consistency in the quality of space and streamline the process followed to obtain space. Our work involved extensive travel to study the operations in each different type of office in each region. We worked closely with a Steering Committee comprised of Ministry personnel from each region, plus headquarters staff, and representatives of BC Building Corporation. The manual specified the spatial, functional and special technical requirements of the various types of field offices. Completed in 1989.
