Clearwater Health Care Centre, BC - 1996
Client: Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital
Building type: Health, Social Services
The Ministry of Health is planning the development of an integrated Clearwater Health Care Centre. The new facility will replace the existing Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital and incorporate the existing Health Unit. The new facility will provide Emergency Care and contain eight Multipurpose Acute Inpatient beds and twelve Multilevel Care beds. A key challenge of the project was to define a facility that could be effectively operated at night by only two nursing staff. We were part of a team engaged to prepare a Functional Program and Conceptual Drawings for the proposed facility. The scope of work included development of net and gross area requirements, identification of internal functional relationships, assessment of site development options and preparation of capital cost estimates. Completed in 1996.
