Royal BC Museum, Victoria, BC - 1994
Client: Royal BC Museum
Building type: Culture/Recreation
BC Buildings Corporation had prepared a plan for the redevelopment of Royal BC Museum, including a life-safety upgrade and construction of a new entry lobby. The purpose of our study was to define long-term site requirements for the Museum, and establish a viable plan for responding to those needs. Key objectives were to determine appropriate site boundaries for the Museum; confirm that BC Buildings Corporation’s long-range plan was consistent with future opportunities; and prepare a long-range development plan for the site. We confirmed future program directions through consultation with Museum staff, and determined on-site parking and site access requirements through discussions with the City of Victoria. Completed in 1994.
