We assisted in the preparation and submission of the 2012/2013 Capital Plan for School District 62 (Sooke). We updated the enrolment and capacity utilization analysis for the school district facilities plan. This helped us to determine the highest priority capital projects involving the creation of additional capacity. We prepared and reviewed successive lists of capital projects, including seismic mitigation, mechanical upgrades, building envelope program and bus replacements as well as major new buildings. We prepared capital cost estimates for the major capital projects. We completed the capital plan submission using the Ministry of Education’s online system. Completed in 2012.

The overall goal of the study was to prepare a comprehensive, long-term strategic plan for all facilities in the school district. One theme was to outline a plan that organized the district into four zones, each with a secondary school. The plan provided an inclusive picture of the facilities required at the five, ten and fifteen year planning horizons. Part of our work involved comprehensive analysis of municipal development, including Official Community Plans, and identification of the implications for future school facilities. We also developed a feasibility study for a proposed new secondary school. Completed in 2005.
