L’école Régionale Victor Brodeur was a K–12 school serving about 350 Francophone students from the Victoria area. ERVB required upgrading to correct major building deficiencies as well as renovations to meet program requirements. The Province provided limited capital funding, and an application had been made to the Federal government to fund additional community enhancements. We assessed both building and program needs; worked with a school Renovation Committee to prioritize requirements; and produced a building redevelopment concept that could be achieved within the limits of available funding. We prepared a comprehensive business case analysis that indicated the construction of a new facility was the most cost–effective solution. Later we updated the facility audit in support of a funding application. Completed in 2002. The building was replaced with a new school as we recommended.
