Ophthalmology, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta - 1983
Client: University of Alberta
Building type: Health, Industry/Research, Post-Secondary Education
The Department of Ophthalmology required additional space for clinical activity. Renovation plans were approved in principle, but identification of the scope and cost was necessary before proceeding with construction. We determined the facilities required and ensured that those needs could be accommodated within the space available. We worked closely with the users to establish policy, analyze workload, project personnel numbers, develop operational concepts, study use of examination/testing rooms, review existing space utilization, and specify facilities needs. We concluded that the required area of approximately 900 net square metres would fit within the existing departmental gross area of approximately 1300 square metres. Completed in 1983.
