School Busing Review, Whitehorse, Yukon - 1997

Client:
Building type: ,

The existing contract for school busing services in the Whitehorse area was set to expire. We explored options for providing the service in a more cost-effective manner. Our work included evaluating options such as the increased use of public transit, using a computerized scheduling program. We consulted with students, parents and the public using surveys and an Open House. We recommended a modified service delivery model and an alternate approach to the tendering of busing contracts. Completed in 1997.

Rural Yukon Schools Facilities Study - 1996

Client:
Building type:

Approximately 1,400 students attend 14 schools in 13 Yukon communities outside Whitehorse. We worked as part of a team to assist in the rational allocation of funds by conducting a comprehensive analysis of Yukon rural school facilities. The study included analysis of space inventory, facility condition, energy use, school grounds, school capacities, community use, enrolment forecasts, and space needs. We defined the need for renovations and new facilities. We also estimated costs and developed funding schedules. Completed in 1996.
